Who We Are

We have the necessary expertise to identify more than 700 pests regulated for Brazil's official programs and more than 800 different types of restrictive pests, for bilateral export agreements, in seeds, grains, fruits, roots, soils, substrate, seedlings, bulbs and tubers.

We operate in all stages of the agribusiness production chain, assisting in the demands of companies and rural producers, regarding the diagnosis of diseases, identification of pests and beneficial microorganisms. Through a diversified portfolio, we offer quality analysis of biological and inoculant products, efficacy and compatibility evaluations of chemical and biological products under controlled and field conditions, as well as physico-chemical and microbiological analyses on sugar.

We have assorted a collection of beneficial and pathogenic microorganisms for commercialization through the Santa Veronica Giuliani Collection (SVG).

We are committed to generating and disseminating knowledge about plant health to contribute to food security of our country.

Our History

In 2006, Agronômica was the first private laboratory in Brazil to obtain accreditation from MAPA (Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply), thus meeting the demands of pest detection and diagnosis in import and export cargoes of agricultural products and by-products. Since then, we offered a diversified portfolio of integrated solutions, investing in technology and innovation with a multidisciplinary and highly qualified team, aiming to promote solutions for the entire agricultural chain and to contribute to plant health. During our 17 years of existence, we have attended to the needs of more than 14,000 customers, we have analyzed almost 300,000 samples and performed more than 1 million tests.

In 2022, Agronômica was acquired by the Cotecna Group, a leader in testing, inspection and certification services. Cotecna offers solutions to facilitate trade and make supply chains safer and more efficient. Founded in 1974 in Switzerland, Cotecna started as a family business and has now grown into a global player with more than 100 offices in approximately 50 countries. This acquisition aims to contribute to the growth and expansion in the Latin American market and will enable the dissemination of our activities in the Brazilian agribusiness market. Furthermore, it boosts our analytical activities and services related to the international transit of agricultural products and goods.
